Stop Overthinking & Start Taking Action—Here’s How

Who Want to Succeed—Without Burnout.

You ever have one of those days where you stare at your screen for way too long, tweaking the same Instagram post, rewriting the same email, or debating whether that one sentence on your sales page needs a semicolon? (heads up-It doesn’t.)

Me too, and I would like to welcome you to the Overthinkers Anonymous meeting. I’ll go first—hi, I’m Joelene, and I, too, have spent an embarrassing amount of time reworking things that did NOT need reworking.

I have sat on decisions so long they’ve practically fossilized, so trust me, you are not alone. Overthinking is a natural side effect of caring about your business. It is also a creativity killer, a momentum murderer, and—if I’m being really honest—the easiest way to talk yourself out of doing the thing that could actually move the needle.

So, how do we break the cycle?

First : Notice When You are Stuck in a Thought Loop

As introverted business owners, we tend to justify overthinking as “being thorough” or “making an informed decision.” However, there’s a fine line between intentionality and analysis paralysis. If you catch yourself revisiting the same decision multiple times, endlessly adjusting things, or waiting for one last piece of reassurance before acting—ding, ding, ding! That’s overthinking in action. And trust me, no amount of research or double-checking is going to magically make you feel 100% ready.

Next, Stop Searching for the “Right” Answer

Because there isn’t one! Business decisions aren’t about right or wrong—they’re about what you choose and how you commit to it. Waiting until you feel 100% sure before taking action is like waiting until you have a perfect gym body before stepping foot in the gym. (Still waiting on that flat tummy myself, but until then, my couch and I have a solid relationship.)

Give Yourself a Time Limit

If your decision involves a social media post, a pricing tweak, or an email you’ve rewritten over three times, set a timer. You get 15 minutes—then it’s publish and move on. For bigger decisions, set a clear deadline (24 hours, a week, whatever makes sense) and commit to deciding by then. Not when you feel “ready.” Because ready is a lie your brain tells you to keep you safe.

Take the Smallest Action Possible

If making a full decision freaks you out, take any action forward. Thinking of starting a podcast? Record a five-minute voice memo. Considering a new offer? Write out the rough idea. Worried about pricing? Pick a number and test it for a month. Momentum > Perfection. Every. Single. Time.

Ask Yourself “What’s the Worst That Could Happen?”

No, really—what’s the actual, realistic worst-case scenario? You post a thing and no one comments? You launch an offer and get crickets? Big deal. Business isn’t an episode of Law & Order. You don’t have to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that your decision is “right.” You just have to make a decision and stick to it.

So here’s what I would like you to do: Identify one thing you’ve been overthinking this week (you know exactly what it is). Give yourself a deadline, make a move, and then close the tab on that decision. The only way to gain clarity is through action.

Hit reply and tell me what you’re committing to. I promise I won’t let you back out. 😉

Monday already? I know. But before you roll your eyes at another “just think positive!” pep talk—stick with me. You’ve probably heard the phrase: Positive mind. Positive vibes. Positive life. Sounds nice, right? But let’s be real—thinking happy thoughts isn’t some magic wand that fixes a tough client, slow sales, or the fact that your coffee went cold before you even got a sip. (I love a good iced coffee, but only when it’s meant to be iced… ya know?) Here’s what does work: using positivity...

Your Weekly Newsletter Designed for Quiet, Intentional Entrepreneurs Who Want to Succeed—Without Burnout. I am going to say it…If you hate social media, you’re not broken—you’re just normal. Seriously. The constant pressure to post, perform, and pretend you’re “booked out” is exhausting-even for extroverts. But for introverted entrepreneurs? It’s the fast track to burnout, self-doubt, and wondering if you should just sell handmade candles instead (I see you). The good news? You don’t need to...

Open book with flipping pages, symbolizing the power to rewrite your story and shift your mindset.

Hey, you know that voice in your head? The one saying you’re not ready or you don’t have what it takes? It’s lying. It’s not time, skill, or talent holding you back—it’s the story you keep telling yourself. But stories can be rewritten. ✨ Instead of “I don’t have enough experience,” try “Every expert started as a beginner.”✨ Instead of “What if I fail?” try “What if I don’t?” This week, catch yourself in self-doubt. Rewrite the story. Take one small action that proves your new belief. You in?...
