If you’ve ever felt like you’re shouting into the void with your business, it’s because you don’t know exactly who you’re talking to. And no, “people who might be interested in what I do” doesn’t count. That’s like saying your ideal client is “humans.” Technically true, but wildly unhelpful.

Here’s the thing—if you are marketing to everyone, you are connecting with no one. It’s like being at a party (ugh, I know, but stay with me) and just tossing out random facts about yourself to a room full of strangers, hoping someone cares. Spoiler alert: they don’t. You’ve got to find your people—the ones who light up when you speak because you’re saying exactly what they need to hear.

So, how do you figure out who your audience is?

Start by knowing who do you love working with. Not just tolerate—LOVE. The person who makes you think, “If everyone I worked with was like this, I’d never burn out.” Picture them. What do they need? What are they struggling with? What are they absolutely sick of hearing from every so-called expert in your field?

Think about who naturally gravitates toward your work. Maybe they’re not the ones who thrive on fast-paced, high-energy tactics but instead appreciate thoughtfulness, strategy, and depth. They want solutions that align with their values and lifestyle, not ones that demand constant hustle. If that resonates, then you’re already narrowing in on the people you’re meant to serve.

Next, go deeper: What keeps them up at night? What do they wish someone would finally say out loud? What are they secretly Googling at 2 am, hoping to find an answer to? (Yes, “Is it normal to hate Zoom calls?” totally counts.)

Create Your Dream Client Profile

Creating your Dream Client Profile is more than just demographics. It’s about diving deep into who these future clients truly are—their essence, what drives them.

Don’t overlook this, no matter where you are in your journey. I recommend you regularly revisit this exercise because you and your dream clients both evolve. Even if you’re just starting and haven’t had clients yet, don’t delay!

I remember doing this myself, conjuring up an imaginary client. It felt odd, but it guided my content, online presence, and business direction. Whether your dream client is a figment of imagination or based on real experiences, ensure they bring you joy, inspire your creativity, and embody your purpose. They’re the heart of why you began this journey!

When you nail this down, everything gets easier. Your messaging, your offers, even your marketing strategy—it all starts to click because you’re speaking to the right people in a way that makes them feel seen. And when people feel seen, they pay attention.

So, tell me—who’s your person? Hit reply and let me know. If this has helped, share Coach’s Corner with a fellow introverted entrepreneur who could use this kind of support and insight. Let’s build a community of intentional, aligned business owners together.

This Week In Coach's Corner

CREATE YOUR DREAM CLIENT PROFILE

Zero in on the exact people you’re meant to serve—so your messaging, offers,
and marketing feel effortless and aligned.

QUIET MARKETING IDEA

Turn conversations into content.

Instead of blasting content everywhere, send a personalized email to 3-5 past clients or engaged followers. Ask what they’re struggling with right now—then create content based on their real responses.

SMALL ACTIONABLE STRATEGY

Spot the Patterns.

Go to your last 5 social media posts or emails. Which ones got the most engagement? That’s a clue about what your audience actually cares about. Adjust your messaging accordingly.

THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE

Write like you're talking to one person.

For the next week, whenever you create content, write as if you’re speaking directly to one specific person (your favorite past client, an engaged follower, or even a fictional version of your ideal client). See how much more natural—and effective—your messaging feels.

Your business is meant to be aligned, not exhausting. Let’s build it your way.

Your Weekly Newsletter Designed for Quiet, Intentional Entrepreneurs Who Want to Succeed—Without Burnout. Last week, we talked about having your Dream Client Profile as the absolute must-have if you want to stop shouting into the void and start attracting the right people. Because the truth is: if you don’t know exactly who you’re talking to, you’re basically just throwing spaghetti at the wall and hoping it sticks. (Messy. Ineffective. A waste of perfectly good carbs.) Now that you’ve honed...

You know what all those super-successful people have in common? They’re always looking for ways to help others. Meanwhile, the ones stuck in a cycle of frustration? They’re busy asking, “What’s in it for me?” It may be a very small shift, but it makes all the difference. A perfect example would be Sara Blakely, the founder of Spanx. She didn’t set out to be a billionaire—she just wanted women to feel confident in their clothes. The money followed because she led with service, not...
